A Busy Sunday

I slept through the night, but woke up a little early this morning. Mommy brought me to her bed and I slept with her for another 30 minutes giving Mommy a little extra shut eye. Mommy was happy with a little extra sleep since we had another busy day today. Mommy and I went to church with Nana, Nino Joe, and Nina Karen. I was perfect at church and didn't make a single sound! After church, we went to Baggin's for lunch and then Nana, Mommy, and I walked around Lowe's. We continued our busy day by celebrating my cousin Amie's birthday. I really liked eating the honey dew and cantaloupe at the party. Fruit is definitely something I love! When we got home this evening, I took a bath, drank my bottle, and fell asleep immediately. Thank goodness March is almost over because this has been a very busy month for us. Enjoy my pictures from today.

Aunt Stacie's baby shower!

I helped Mommy and Renee throw my Aunt Stacie a baby shower today! We had lots of fun and my baby cousin on the way received some cool gifts! I wore a blue dress to the shower because my Aunt Stacie's favorite color is blue! We played some fun games. Mommy made Aunt Stacie a diaper wreath and everyone tried to write down what was on the wreath and guess the number of diapers it took to make it! Aunt Stacie is going to keep the wreath on the nursery door. We also designed a bib for my new cousin and Aunt Stacie had to pick out the one she liked best. She liked the one Mommy and I created, but we weren't allowed to win the prize. Our bib said, "I'm the little cousin." We also tried to guess how big around Aunt Stacie is. The game that made everyone laugh and make funny faces was the diaper game. Aunt Stacie made some pretty funny faces! The shower was fun! After everyone left the shower, we stayed to celebrate Aunt Stacie's birthday. I had fun playing with the bigger kids at the party. The kids had fun babysitting me and Mommy loved the free time. I even sat in my old bassinet that my baby cousin will get to use. I also tried to bite into a tangerine that Aunt Stacie had in the middle of her coffee table. I took many little bites and each time I would make the funniest face. The tangerine was a little too sour for me. Today was a long day, but I loved it! I never fussed and I slept through the night after we got home. Congratulations once again Aunt Stacie! We can't wait for my baby cousin to get here. You'll get to see my baby cousin on his/her own blog once he/she arrives! Enjoy the pictures!

Cheering on the basketball and softball Cats!

Daddy is away for 4 days and Mommy and I have a busy weekend planned. We started today by going to Wilbur's this afternoon with Nana, Nina Nina Dia and Nina Nina to watch the Wildcats play Louisville. Mommy's friend Melissa met us there with her two girls, Chloe and Emerson. Unfortunately the Cats lost, but we still had a great time. I had a blast playing with Chloe and Emerson! I also enjoyed my grilled cheese sandwich and ate almost the whole sandwich minus the crust. After the basketball game, I went to my first UofA softball game with Mommy, Nina Nina Dia, and Nina Nina. I just sat and kept my eyes on the catcher the whole time. When the ball was hit, I would point at it and follow it's path. I think I am going to like sports! It was a little chilly so Mommy and I only stayed for 4 innings, plus I needed to rest for the busy next two days.

Check out my little pigtails!

Mommy can't wait for my hair to be long enough to put in a ponytail! Mommy decided this afternoon to try pigtails! Thanks to Miss Amy, I have lots of hair bands! I tried to pull out the pigtail at first, but after Mommy said no, I didn't bother with them the rest of the night. When Daddy came home from work, he asked me how it was possible to get any cuter! My personality seemed to be even more playful with my new hair-do! Mommy says that pigtails are necessary because my hair is constantly in my face. What do you think of my pigatils?

Smiling so cute at Mommy right after getting pigtails :)

Who can resist this face?

Izabella's Birthday Party

After eating waffles and watching the Cats win, we went to Izabella's birthday party at the park! I had a great time playing on the swings, sliding down the slide with Daddy, watching all the kids run around, trying to walk all over, helping Daddy play boccie ball, swinging at the pinata, and just being a happy baby! It was a little windy, but I didn't let that stop me from having fun! Mommy and Daddy are hoping that I am tired out and that I will sleep through the night after a fun and busy day! We hope Izabella enjoyed her party as much as we did! Enjoy the pictures from the party!

MMM...Milk

I tried cow's milk for the first time today! I didn't seem to mind the different taste! Mommy is going to be introducing it to me a little each day and soon I will only be drinking cow's milk and no more formula! Once again, I am showing that I am getting to be a big girl!
Is somebody watching me drink this?
Would you like to try some too?

I'll have some more of that! (notice the milk drool)

Waffles and Basketball

Today was another fun Sunday! We enjoyed tasty waffles that my Poppy made and watched the Wildcats win their way to the Sweet 16! I loved having people over to play with besides just Mommy and Daddy! I can't wait to cheer on the Wildcats next Friday!
Enjoying waffles and strawberries....yummy!

Big girl bath

Mommy and Daddy decide that since I am 1 I can take big girl baths and say goodbye to my baby/toddler tub! Mommy and Daddy like the convenience of keeping me in one area with the tub, but I am ready to explore the adventures of using the big tub! I absolutely loved bath time tonight! I liked being able to move all around and play with even more bath toys! Bath time is one of the best times of the day! This is just another sign that I am growing up and not such a baby anymore!

Melisa and Jeff's wedding

Congratulations Melisa and Jeff! They got married today at Reflections at the Butte's. Mommy and Uncle Kenny were in the wedding! I stayed home with Daddy all day while Mommy was getting ready for the wedding! Mommy was so proud of how Daddy got me dressed for the wedding on his own! We had a blast at the wedding! I slept through most of dinner, but I woke up in time for the dancing! I loved the lights and the disco ball! I had fun dancing and watching the other kids at the wedding dance around! Melisa was a beautiful bride and we her and Jeff nothing but happiness!

My First Birthday!

A year ago today at 7:08am I came into the world weighing 6lbs. 14oz. and was 19 inches long. Today I weigh 20lbs. 14oz(with all my clothes on) and measure 29 1/2 inches tall. I have changed so much in a year. At my one year check up today the doctor told Mommy and Daddy that I can sit facing forward in my carseat, I can drink cow's milk, I will get shots in the arm now, I no longer have to get completely naked on the scale, I can eat anything but peanut butter, and I can start to be weaned from the bottle. With all of that information, Mommy and Daddy felt like they no longer were holding a baby, but instead a little girl! No matter what though, I know I'll always be their baby girl!

Here are some of my favorite things to do these days:
~ play with anything that has buttons where I can push them and make something happen
~ help Mommy and Daddy get me dressed and undressed
~ give love to anything that I am holding by tilting my head toward it and smiling
~ swing on my swing
~ walking with someone holding my hands
~ chasing and being chased (the I'm going to get you game)
~ drinking out of a straw
~ pulling the bows out of my hair and then babbling at them
~ giving kisses
~ waving hello and goodbye at anyone
~ pretending to talk on the phone
~ dancing to any music I hear
~ learning to sign (so far I can do milk and baby)
~ pointing at objects to tell someone what I want
~ opening books and looking at all the pictures
~ being read to
~ playing with all my fun toys

There are many more I could add to this list, but I think you get the picture that I love being Mommy and Daddy's little girl! Today was a fun day! After my doctor's appointment, I went home and played with Daddy while Mommy went to a wedding rehearsal. We all had lunch together and then I went to Nana and Poppy's for the night! I got to watch basketball and eat pizza with my Nana, Poppy, and Grandpa Corkey while Mommy and Daddy had a rehearsal dinner to go to. I spent the night at Nana and Poppy's and had such a great time that I slept through the night for 13 hours! Mommy and Daddy were able to get a good night sleep too! This year has been so much fun, but Mommy and Daddy know the fun is just going to get better as time keeps going by! Enjoy some of my pictures from the day!

My One Year Photo Shoot

Today Mommy and Daddy took me to get my one year pictures taken! I am becoming a pro at this and the photographer had a blast with me. If they asked me to stand, I did it. If asked to sit, I did it. Even with my outfit changes I didn't complain. My Nino Joe and Nina Karen went with us and they were a big help. They do all they can to get me to laugh and smile. I fussed when trying to take a picture with them, but the one photo that was snapped came out perfect! After my photo shoot we went to Chili's. Everyone in the restaurant made over me. My Nina Karen and I celebrate the same birthday so we were given a dessert and sung too! I was perfect the entire evening, making Mommy and Daddy so very proud! Mommy forgot her camera though so there are no pictures from dinner. Enjoy the photo shoot pictures!
