Fun in the sand!

My sandbox is now complete! Thanks to Poppy and Grandpa my sandbox was finished today with a cover for the sand! As soon as I woke up this morning, I pointed to my sandbox and wanted to play. I love playing in the sandbox while Mommy, Daddy, Nana, or anyone else is outside in the yard. With the cover, I am sure there won't be any neighborhood cats getting in the sand! Enjoy some pictures of me playing early this morning in the sand!

Nothing better than playing with sand after breakfast

I love sitting on the bench seat and playing

There's plenty of room for playmates in my sandbox:)

Sandbox Construction Part 2

Poppy and Grandpa came over again today to finish my sandbox. Grandpa transplanted a plant that was growing where my sandbox would soon be and also trimmed all our bushes and planted new plants for us. My Grandpas worked non stop all day and into the evening to finish my sandbox. When Mommy came home from work. My sandbox was in place and Poppy and Grandpa were putting a screen over the top. When Daddy got home, it was time for the sand to be poured in the box. I loved this part. I even sat in the sandbox and watched the sand fall out of the wheelbarrow. Once the sand was in my sandbox, I couldn't be bothered. I had fun throwing the sand all over me. I also had new sand toys to play with that were fun to investigate. Poppy and Grandpa continued to work on the finishing touches and I continued to supervise from inside my sandbox. We ate dinner late tonight because Poppy and Grandpa were once again determined to finish the project. The project was completed tonight except for the lid to keep the neighborhood cats out. The lid will be finished tomorrow. For now though, I can play all I want in the sand. There is room for more than just me so if you are in the mood to play, come on over! THANKS AGAIN POPPY AND GRANDPA FOR MY AWESOME SANDBOX!

Sandbox Construction Part 1

If you have been reading my blog, you will remember that last weekend Mommy decided to move the flower box to another part of the yard. This allowed for more play area and room for a sandbox. Poppy and Grandpa came over Wednesday afternoon to discuss where to put a sandbox. They are always doing projects together and are ready to build me a sandbox! This morning, Poppy stopped by and asked Mommy and Daddy exactly where they would like my sandbox. We all decided on the right spot. Daddy thought they were going to start today, but Mommy told Daddy that they would probably build the sandbox by the end of the week. Daddy was right. Nana and Poppy brought us dinner and when they arrived Poppy and Grandpa had all the building materials for my sandbox. Poppy and Grandpa worked until 8:30pm building the frame for my sandbox. Mommy and Daddy told them they didn't have to build it in one day, but my Grandpas were determined. I helped supervise the construction. I didn't care for the sound of Poppy's saw, but I stayed outside to watch everything my Grandpas were doing. When I went to bed, Mommy and Daddy told me that tomorrow I will have a sandbox to play in. Stayed tuned to see how the construction turned out. Enjoy the Part 1 photos of my sandbox construction. A BIG THANK YOU TO MY POPPY AND GRANDPA FOR BUILDING ME A SANDBOX!
Supervising Poppy cut the boards for my sandbox(notice the coffee tin in my hand.....I insist on carrying that around and putting dirt in it when I am outside playing in the yard)

After my bath, I came out to find the frame of my sandbox complete. I sat on the bench to test it out with my favorite Grandpas

Getting into the Halloween Spirit

Mommy decided to decorate for Halloween today. We have too busy of weekends coming up so today was a good day to get it done. I helped Mommy get the decorations out, but took a nap during most of the decorating time. When I woke up, I was excited to see Winnie the Pooh and Tigger in our front yard. I ran to them immediately and pointed them out to Mommy and Daddy. I love pointing out the decorations to any visitors. Mommy and Daddy can't wait for my second year of trick-or-treating. I don't quite understand why we have new decorations up, but they all seem like new toys to me. Enjoy the photos and stay tuned for what this Halloween has in store for me:).

Grandma's birthday dinner

We celebrated Grandma Edie's birthday tonight. We watched the UofA football game and Daddy grilled steaks. I had fun playing with all the company. Once again, I stayed awake until everyone left. I know that parties are fun so I have decided not to get tired until everyone is gone.

Listening to everyone sing Happy Birthday

Little Shopper

When I go grocery shopping with Mommy and Daddy, I don't care to sit in the cart anymore. I like to help push the cart instead. Today after my Movers and Shakers class, we went shopping at Costco. The carts are big, but that doesn't stop me from pushing. Mommy and Daddy finally caught me with the camera today. Mommy and Daddy help steer the cart when I push so I don't run into anyone or knock down anything. Enjoy my shopping photos.

Pushing the cart and looking to see if there is something I need in this aisle. (Notice the big giraffe pillow in the cart that Daddy and I decided I needed today)

Little Gardener

I love to play outside and play in the garden/dirt! This morning as Mommy and Daddy were working in the yard, Mommy decided she wanted the flower box in a different part of the yard so I could have more play area. Mommy called Grandpa to consult him first since he always takes care of her flowers. Grandpa agreed with Mommy's idea and came over immediately to help with the project. I loved the project becuase I got to get down and dirty with Mommy, Daddy, and Grandpa. I took breaks for water and ice cubes, but mostly enjoyed getting in between everyone while working. By the way, I did all of this in my pajamas too:). Mommy and Grandpa were happy with moving the flower box, but some of the plants might not like the move. I will keep you posted. I definitely liked having new parts of the yard to play in. Stay tuned for what we do with the yard next. Enjoy our gardening photos.

Allison's Baptism

Allison was baptized this afternoon. I was perfect throughout the entire ceremony and had fun playing at Aunt Stacie and Uncle Kenny's afterwards. Allison wore the same baptismal gown that I wore. Our parents and our Poppy wore it too. Allison didn't make a peep during the ceremony. I took a nice long nap before the ceremony and stayed awake for the entire party and car ride home! What a fun afternoon and evening. Enjoy the photos.

Four generations (Poppy, Uncle Kenny, Mommy, Me, and Allison have all worn the same baptismal gown and G.G. has witnessed all of our baptisms)

18 Months Old

I am 18 months old today! Mommy and Daddy want to know how the time flew by so fast. I am a fun, energetic, happy, loving, and independent little girl. I love to play with books, dolls, balls, blocks, and my baby cousin, Allison. I like to show Allison how to play with certain toys. For example, I like to place a rattle in Allison's hand and then shake her hand so the rattle makes noise. I am going to teach Allison everything she needs to know:). As I grow older, I am trying to be more independent which doesn't always mean that I get to do what I want. There are times when my exploring gets me into a little bit of trouble. For the most part though, I am a happy, easy going little girl. I started my Movers and Shakers class again today and I am in the 18-24 month old class. Mommy was a little nervous about what the 2 year olds would teach me, but I fit in just fine. I love going to this class because I get to play with kids my age. I am talking more and more these days. I like to say mama, dada, up, and recently, hat! I also will say "dis dis" for what is this or for you can have this. I like to point at objects while Mommy counts aloud. I like most foods. I have learned that dipping food in ketchup is yummy. Chicken, noodles, and fruit still top my favorite foods list. Wherever I am, you are certain to find a book nearby. I have soooo many books and I love all of them. I love to sit and read them by myself or have someone read to me. Mommy and Daddy are proud of me and know that I might have missed important details about being 18 months old, but you should get an idea about me from the other posts if I forgot to say something in this one. Below are my 18 month stats:

Weight: 23lb 14oz (25-50%) (at birth - 6 lbs. 14 oz)

Height: 31 3/4in. (50-75%) (at birth - 19 in.)

I don't let the nurses measure me as easily these days (they told Mommy that was normal at this age)

Friday Night with my Ninos

My Ninos are the best playmates! I love it when they come over because they will play with whatever toy I choose. Mommy and Daddy love it too because they get a little break. Tonight after dinner, I started playing with a deck of Abby Cadabby cards. For 2 hours, I never put them down. I would pretend to be playing a game and then quickly put all of the cards into my hand and run to the next person with them. If I dropped the cards, I picked them up as quickly as possible so I could run around some more. Mommy, Daddy, and my Ninos just kept smiling at my silliness. After bath time, I was still very playful and energetic. Nina and Nino read books to me and I pretended to read books to them. I even played on Rody jumping up and down full of energy. Everyone seemed to wind down as the night went on, but not me. I made sure to stay awake until my Ninos left. I love having playmates visit, especially my Ninos! Enjoy the photos from tonight!

Morning fun!

I love weekday mornings! When I wake up, I usually help Mommy finish getting dressed for work. Sometimes when I wake up, Nana and Allison are already at our house. I love to run to Allison and give her hugs and kisses. I tell Nana to put Allison in the crib with me by hitting my hand on the bed next to me. When Nana lays Allison next to me, I show her my toys and play with her. I can't wait until Allison can talk to me! For now she smiles and makes cute little sounds. I love eating my breakfast with Nana and Allison too. We often watch Sesame Street and lately, Sid the Science Kid. Whenever there is music on the show, I try to dance to the beat. Nana and I even dance together to one of the songs. When Mommy catches us on video she will post us dancing. Weekday mornings are fun thanks to Nana and Allison! Enjoy some of our morning photos!

Big Girl Swing

Everyday I do something that reminds Mommy and Daddy that I am not a baby and am growing up. Lately, I haven't wanted to sit in my swing. I would rather sit on the big girl swing. Mommy and Daddy still hold on to me because I need a little support, but it puts a big smile on my face to sit on the blue swing instead of the pick one. I know that soon Nana will be putting Allison in the little swing and pushing me on the big swing! I can't wait!

Yummy Potluck

Mommy's best friend Amy is in town for a few days which means my friend Corinna is in town too! We went to a potluck dinner to visit them. We ate yummy food and had fun playing together on the grass, in the dirt, and on the basketball court. I wish Corinna lived in Tucson so we could play more together. We had fun and did a great job at sharing toys together. Mommy wishes Amy lived closer too. Amy's uncle brought his two dogs and I had fun playing with them. I liked trying to chase them, raising my shirt to let them lick my belly, and dumping their water bowl so I could play with the water. The weather was perfect for a potluck and playtime! Thanks for a fun time today Amy, Sam, and Corinna. I can't wait until we see you again!
