It's Raining, It's Pouring....

I want to see the rain too!

We have had a lot of rain lately. Tonight Mommy, Daddy, and I left Nana and Papa's house and it was just starting to rain. As we got closer to home, the rain was getting harder and harder. When Daddy went to get me out of the truck, the rain was coming down in sheets. Luckily Daddy had his unbrella ready to protect me from the rain. Mommy was soaking wet when she came inside the house. This heavy rain lasted for quite awhile. I tried to watch it out the window with Mommy and Daddy. I will admit that rain is good sleeping weather!

My 5 1/2 month photo shoot

I had fun today at my photo shoot. My picture with the teddy bear was entered in a personality contest. Mommy will find out if I win in October. The photographer chose the picture to enter into the contest. Whether I win or not, Mommy and Daddy think my personality is awesome! I will let you know the results.

My First Tailgate Party

I can take a nap through anything, even a tailgate party!

Daddy and I at the tailgate party

Nana and Nina Nina Dia were excited to show me off at the UofA

Daddy took this picture of me right before putting me in the truck to leave for his game. Do I look tired or what?

Today was a very busy Saturday for me. I started off the day with a big smile from Mommy and Daddy because I slept through the night. I even took an hour nap around 9am which helped energize me for my busy day. I had my pictures taken for my 5 1/2 month photo shoot. Mommy will post the pictures soon. After my photo shoot, I went to my first tailgate party! I was all dressed up in my cheerleader outfit for the UofA. Mommy couldn't wait to put me in it! Mommy even got crafty this morning and made a bow to match my outfit! The weather was hot and humid, but I didn't fuss at all. I loved seeing all the action and people at the tailgating area. I even took a little nap at the tailgate. I can't wait until I can go to the next tailgate. We left a little early to go to Daddy's basketball game. Daddy's team is in a fall league so I will be going to his games again! I was really tired at his game, but I refused to sleep. I did fall asleep as soon as Daddy started to drive home. Mommy and Daddy are hoping I will sleep through the night again. It was a busy day, but Mommy and Daddy said I handled it like a champ!

Are you ready for some football????

Sorry Mommy, I am watching the game and can't be bothered by the camera.

Those are some bright lights!

This weekend is the beginning of high school and college football seasons. I started off the football season by going to the Amphi football game with Mommy and Daddy. I watched the game for a little bit, but I really liked looking at the big lights. Even though I was out past my bedtime, I behaved very well. I even slept through the night after staying up a little later than usual.

Visiting Uncle Kenny and Aunt Stacie in Vail!

My Uncle Kenny and Aunt Stacie bought a new house in Vail. They started moving in today, so Mommy drove me out to see their new house! I am so excited for them. They are very busy moving in, but I know when they are all settled that I will have a lot of fun playing at their house. They have a beautiful new house with a lot of land for a backyard. Mommy told Uncle Kenny that he should buy me a pony to ride in their backyard. For now, I will just have to settle with playing with their dog, Annie.

My new ride

Nana had me test out my new ride.

This is fun! I love riding in my wagon and feeling the breeze through my hair!

I better hold on, Daddy is driving!

Today I rode in my wagon for the first time. My Nana had me sit in it during the day to test out how I would like it. When Mommy and Daddy got home from work it was cloudy outside and Mommy suggested we go for a walk. Mommy and Daddy decided to take me for a walk in my new ride. I really enjoyed being able to look all around. Some of our neighbors were waving to me from their front windows. Mommy and Daddy think it is cute how I hold on to the sides of the wagon. Mommy tells me that the wagon is special because it is the same wagon she rode in as a little girl. Papa refinished the wagon and decorated it for my Daddy's school. Instead of being called the Radio Flyer, it is called the Panther Flyer. Papa was proud that I finally took a ride in the wagon. You can bet you will see more photos of me in the wagon as I grow up! Thanks Papa for my new ride!

Happy 75th Birthday Nino Joe!

My Nino Joe turned 75 today. I can't believe it. He doesn't look his age! We celebrated his birthday Friday night with dinner and gambling. I of course didn't gamble. I also went to church with him today to wish him a great day! Have a fantastic year Nino!

Meeting Charlotte Grace

Today at church I met Charlotte Grace. I am a week older than her. She is the daughter of Louie and Stephanie, Mommy and Daddy's friends. We behaved very well in church today. Louie made me laugh and smile in church and Mommy and Daddy tried to keep me quiet. It was fun to meet Charlotte. I hope we can meet soon for a play date.

Draft party and Marty's birthday

Let's see, whose name will I pull out next?

I closed my eyes so that no one would think I was cheating.

Sorry for the 10th pick out of 12 Cedric.

I was more interested in Daddy trying to make me smile than looking at the camera! Happy Birthday Marty!

Today was a busy day at our house. With football season right around the corner, it was a day to get ready for fantasy football. Mommy and Daddy tell me this is an annual tradition to have a draft party in August and celebrate Marty's birthday at the same time. I will have a fantasy football team this year with Mommy's help. My team is called Caitlin's Cronnies. As the season gets going, I will let you know how my team does. I know that Mommy and I together will have a great season. I helped today at the draft party by pulling the names of all the participants out of a bucket for the draft order. Mommy and Daddy were proud of me for being able to pull 12 papers out, one at a time. I pulled my own name out for 6th place in the order.

Having a ball!

When Nana babysits me during the day, I play with all of my toys. Nana says that I love to play with my basketball now. I think it is fun to try and pick it up, with Nana's help of course. Today I was having so much fun rolling the ball in my crib and waiting for Nana to roll it back to me. Daddy is proud that I am interested in the basketball. As you can see, I am working on being able to palm the ball.

Playful mornings

Mommy and Daddy love my personality in the morning. I am all smiles and very playful. Today when Mommy went to get me out of my crib I was rolling around and babbling. Mommy can't help but snap pictures. This picture caught me in my new favorite act, sticking my tongue out! Mommy and Daddy might not always be smiling in the morning, but I sure am!

Can you hear me now?

I am only 5 months old and I am already interested in talking on the phone. Today Mommy called to talk to Daddy and I wanted to play with the phone. Daddy put the phone on speaker so I could hear Mommy too. While Mommy was talking, I put the phone up to my ear and Daddy thought it was a good photo op. If you call Mommy or Daddy and your call accidentally gets disconnected, it is probably my fault because I love to push the buttons on the phone!

Our little worm

Rolling over comes really easy for me these days. I often end up rolling over while sleeping like the picture above. Mommy thinks I look like a little worm. Sometimes I continue sleeping in this position, but sometimes when I roll on my tummy I wake up crying. Mommy and Daddy know that soon I will be used to sleeping on my tummy.

Cereal Time

Uncle Paul came over tonight and had fun watching me try to eat some rice cereal. Uncle Paul decided to help out by demonstrating how to open my mouth for the spoon. Daddy couldn't resist taking more video and pictures. I am doing a little better at eating the rice cereal. Tonight Mommy and Daddy were surprised how well I did. They think Uncle Paul should come over every day to help me eat my rice cereal!

Welcome home Connor

Cousin Connor and Me

Cousin Braedon and Me

Grandma Edie, Great Aunt Annie, and Me

Reading with Grandma Edie

Today we went to Josh and Christina's house(Daddy's cousin) to welcome home the newest member of their family. Connor Jack was born on June 26th. He was born two months early, but he is doing great and the doctors say he is a healthy little boy. Connor is catching up to my birth weight very quickly! I was also able to play with my Cousin Braedon. He is the son of Mike and Alycia(Daddy's cousin). Braedon is 3 weeks older then me. We tried to grab each other's hands. My Great Aunt Annie had fun holding me for ahile at the party and liked making me smile. My Grandma Edie helped entertain me by reading to me. We all had a great time and were happy to meet little Connor.

A night with Aunt Stacie and Uncle Kenny

Aunt Stacie hopes I like books like she does. We were reading Ten Little Ladybugs.

It is fun to grab at noses, mouths, ears, etc.

Aunt Stacie and Uncle Kenny babysat me tonight while Mommy and Daddy went out with some friends. Aunt Stacie is a lot of fun to hang out with. She gives me her full attention and spoils me. As soon as she walked in the door she started playing with me. I am glad Mommy and Daddy let me play with Aunt Stacie and Uncle Kenny for part of the night. Mommy and Daddy thank them too!

Getting ready for bed is fun!

Being silly with Daddy

Laughing for the camera

I really concentrate on the pictures in the book

Let me take a close look Mommy

I love getting ready for bed! It always starts with a bath, where I like to play with some of my bath toys and kick the water to splash Mommy. After I dry off and put my sleep sack on, Mommy and Daddy usually read to me and feed me. Then it is off to sleep. I am still waking up sometimes at night, but Mommy and Daddy think I am getting better. They were spoiled by me sleeping through the night at an early age!

Testing out teether options

Today when Daddy came home from work we were playing and I decided to try and put his knuckle in my mouth. I try to put everything in my mouth lately. Mommy and Daddy know that teeth are on their way and I am just looking for anything that will soothe my gums. Daddy's finger is a little too big to be a teether for me, but it was fun trying it!

Little Princess

Princess Caitlin

On Friday, Mommy had to decorate a tiara at a workshop she went to. Today she decided to put it on me and take a picture. The picture you see is the first picture that Mommy took. Daddy was impressed that I took such a great picture on the first try. I knew that I was a princess and that is why my smile is so big and the picture came out great the first time around.

Love those toes

One of my favorite pastimes is to lay on my back and grab my toes. I also like putting my toes in my mouth. I entertain myself when I do this and I entertain Mommy and Daddy. Whenever I have a chance, I go for my toes. Daddy says that I am working on my flexibility when I grab my toes.

Rice Cereal

"what's that Mommy?"

"that tastes funny Mommy"

"let me have another taste"

At my last doctor's appointment, the doctor suggested that Mommy and Daddy try feeding me rice cereal at around 5 months. I have seemed very interested in Mommy and Daddy's food lately and I am not too found of the bottle, so today I had my first taste of rice cereal. Mommy and Daddy prepped for the big moment. Daddy had both the video camera and digital camera taking pictures. I seemed to get distracted by the cameras easily, making it difficult to feed me. I did take interest in the spoon and the rice cereal, but I didn't necessarily like the taste at first. I have tried it a few times since and I am doing better at eating the cereal. Mommy and Daddy know this will take time.

Wishing Daddy a good day

Today was Daddy's first day of school with his new students. I woke up early this morning to wish him a good day. Mommy couldn't resist taking pictures of my smirks. I hope Daddy has a good school year!

Peek a Boo

Daddy and I were surprised to find Mommy in my room!

Peek a Boo Mommy!

This is my new favorite game to play. I really like when a person hides around a corner and then all of a sudden they appear again. I start to laugh out loud when playing peek a boo. Tonight before getting ready for my bath I played peek a boo with Mommy and Daddy. It all started when Daddy was carrying me down the hallway and I tried to turn my head to peek into my room. That is when I found Mommy and the game continued for about 20 minutes. It is so much fun to play peek a boo.

Roll over

I rolled over from my back to my tummy today without any help . I did it while laying on Mommy and Daddy's bed this morning. Mommy told me to roll over and the next thing she knew I was rolling over. I didn't even get frustrated once I did it and I seemed to like being able to push up with my little arms and look around. Daddy also laid on the bed with me and was able to get me to roll over. When Nana came over, I showed off my new skill to her too! Mommy and Daddy are very excited for me and clap every time I roll over by myself!

Playing with Daddy

I like sitting like my Daddy (He said it was fun to play, but he doesn't want me to be a Detroit Tiger fan. Thanks Papa for the outfit)

Daddy looks funny upside down:)

This afternoon after my nap I had a fun time playing with Daddy on the recliner. I thought it was fun to sit in front of Daddy while he was holding on to my hands. Then when I discovered that I could tilt my head back and smile at Daddy, I couldn't resist doing it multiple times! I love play time with Daddy.

My new jumper

I wasn't quite sure when Daddy put me in my jumper
I like making the frog spin around

This jumper is going to take some time getting used to it

Mommy and Daddy bought me a new toy and I tried it out for the first time today. My baby Einstein jumper has a lot of activities for me to do and I am able to jump which is fun too! Mommy and Daddy know that this will be something else to help entertain me and teach me new skills at the same time! I'll let you know later what I learn from my jumper!
